Building Inspection Melbourne | Cheeky Termite

I conducted a Melbourne building inspection last week and took this classic photo.

I call it the cheeky termite! Check it out. I found loads of termites ( species – coptotermes acinaciformis ) in a bathroom wall cavity at this Melbourne home after detecting high moisture readings on the adjacent plaster wall lining. Termites travel underground and navigate upwards into the timber frame from the soil below. They are often found in wet area wall cavities such as bathrooms, laundries and/or kitchens. I often receive calls from my builder mates saying that they have found termites while doing bathroom renovations.
