This photo was taken at a building & pest inspection in Mornington. BIA checks everywhere!
It’s likely that a termite nest once or still does occupied this dead tree stump. What looks like dirt that I’m holding is actually termite mudding and the surrounding stump shows significant damage cause by termite activity. The stump was located very close to the building exterior, which puts the house at greater risk of termite attack. The base of this stump requires further drill testing by a licensed pest controller to check if termites are still present or not. A termite management program is essential for properties that have this sort of evidence. At least, annual inspections for any property is recommended as per Australian Standards.
